1. What is Conscious Puzzles Mental Health Services?
Conscious Puzzles Mental Health Services is a behavioral health practice providing mental health services for children, adolescents, adults, and families. Our goal is to help individuals better understand themselves, develop healthy coping skills, strengthen relationships, and build healthier lives.
2. What services do you provide?
Our services may include:
Individual therapy
Children and adolescent therapy
Family therapy
Behavioral health assessments
Autism and ADHD-related assessments and support
Early intervention services for young children
Emotional and behavioral regulation support
Diagnostic evaluations
Case management and care coordination
Psychiatry/medication management, when available
School support, including IEP and 504 advocacy
Court-mandated and re-entry behavioral health services
3. Do you work with children?
Yes. Our Children’s Clinic provides behavioral health services for children and families, including support for young children and children experiencing developmental, emotional, behavioral, or social challenges.
4. What ages do you serve?
We provide services across the lifespan. Our Children’s Clinic focuses on children and adolescents, including early intervention services for children ages 0–5. Adult services are also available.
5. Do you provide autism or ADHD assessments?
Yes. Depending on the individual’s needs and the specific service available, we provide assessments and behavioral health support related to autism, ADHD, emotional regulation, and other behavioral or developmental concerns.
6. Do you accept insurance?
We work with a variety of insurance and health plan programs. Coverage varies by plan and service, so we recommend contacting our office to verify your specific benefits and eligibility.
7. Do you accept Medi-Cal?
Yes, we work with Medi-Cal members through participating health plans and programs. Eligibility and covered services depend on the member’s plan and authorization requirements.
8. Do I need a referral to make an appointment?
Referral requirements vary depending on your insurance plan and the service you are requesting. Our team can help determine what is needed before your first appointment.
9. How do I schedule an appointment?
You can contact our office to request an appointment. Our administrative team will collect basic information, discuss your needs, and help connect you with the appropriate provider.
10. What happens during the first appointment?
Your first appointment generally focuses on getting to know you, understanding your concerns and goals, reviewing relevant history, and determining what services or treatment may be appropriate.
11. Can I request a specific therapist?
You may request a particular therapist based on availability, language, specialty, age group, location, or other preferences. While we cannot guarantee a specific provider, we will make every effort to find an appropriate match.
12. Do you offer services in Spanish?
Yes. Spanish-speaking services are available, subject to provider availability.
13. Do you offer in-person appointments?
Yes. In-person services are available at select Conscious Puzzles locations and depend on the provider, service, and appointment availability.
14. Do you offer telehealth?
Absolutely. You can find your providers telehealth link by clicking on their picture on te connect with team page to access them via online during your scheduled appointment.
15. Do you provide school support?
Yes. We can help families understand behavioral and mental health needs related to school functioning and may provide support regarding IEPs, 504 plans, behavioral concerns, and coordination with other professionals, when appropriate.
16. Do you work with schools and other healthcare providers?
With appropriate authorization and consent, our team can coordinate care with schools, physicians, community organizations, regional center programs, and other professionals involved in a client’s care.
17. What if my child is having behavioral or emotional problems at home or school?
You do not have to wait until a problem becomes a crisis. Our team can help assess what may be contributing to the behavior and develop strategies to support your child and family.
18. Can you help if I don’t know what diagnosis I have?
Yes. You do not need to know your diagnosis before contacting us. Our clinicians can evaluate your concerns and determine what additional assessment or treatment may be appropriate.
19. Do you provide crisis services?
Conscious Puzzles is not a replacement for emergency or crisis services. If you or someone else is experiencing an immediate danger, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department. For a mental health crisis, you can also call or text 988.
20. Is my information confidential?
We take client privacy seriously and maintain confidentiality in accordance with applicable laws and professional requirements. There are certain legal exceptions to confidentiality, which your provider will explain during treatment.
21. How do I know which service is right for me?
You don’t have to figure that out alone. Our intake team can gather information about your needs and help determine the appropriate next step.
22. Can I receive services if I am already seeing another provider?
Possibly. With your permission, our team can coordinate with other providers when appropriate to help prevent duplication of services and support continuity of care.
23. Do you provide services for families?
Yes. Depending on the circumstances, services may involve parents, caregivers, children, couples, or other family members.
24. What should I bring to my first appointment?
If applicable, bring your insurance information, identification, referral or authorization information, medication list, and any relevant records /documents, court/minute orders. For children, parents or guardians should also be prepared to provide developmental, medical, educational, and behavioral history.
